OS 7.1 and BlackBerry Tag Bring The NFC Technology to Life on Your Device

I loved the way that the BlackBerry Tag is shown on the Inside BlackBerry blog. It’s even more fun to test and try yourself. This is the very technology the Porsche will work with as well. What’s so great about BlackBerry Tag? Check it out…

Check out the video to hear the details and watch it first hand. I was really impressed at the way it works. Of course I had to test it out myself and the results are as accurate as shown in the video. Annu, the Senior Product Manager at Research in Motion, talks with Ryan from BlackBerry about the technology and what it works with in the device.

What is BlackBerry Tag? Inside BlackBerry gives the following description:

“BlackBerry® Tag is a new way to share content with others, allowing you to use NFC technology to pass information with a simple tap between any two NFC-enabled BlackBerry® smartphones.â€

What phones are NFC/BlackBerry Tag capable?

What can you do with this?

So basically you enable the BlackBerry Tag and NFC features on your device, and you tap the backs of your phone after choosing the files to send and the BlackBerry devices will transmit the files, including multiple pictures.

How secure is this encrypted Bluetooth technology?

Have you tried the BlackBerry Tag features yet? What do you think so far? I really like it and how fast it works. It’s fast, secure, and with the API’s available from BlackBerry to third party developers, there’s so much potential and possibilities. What app would you love to see BlackBerry Tag used with?[via: Inside BlackBerry]
