Intel has no intention to slash Core 2 Duo/Quad series price until mid of January next year despite of overlapping products.

At present,new-gen Nehalem Core i7/i5 are priced聽from maximum $999 to minimum $196.While last generation Penryn Core 2 Duo/Quad series vary from $113-$316.Hence there is about $120 overlapping.

Upcoming 32nm Westmere Clarkdale early next year will take up $87-$284 price segment. If low-end Pentium/Celeron added, the situation become confused.

It has not any rumors that Core 2 Duo/Quad series will cut price and disappear. Therefore,Intel processors will run on three different platforms, including LGA775,LGA1366,LGA1156.聽
