Nvidia brag with “most powerful professional graphics lineup”
Taking a jab at AMDs growing professional graphics card offer, Nvidia has now made an announcement regarding its own top to bottom Quadro family calling it the “most powerful and advanced” in green history. The praised Quadro series includes seven, more or less new cards- the Quadro FX 5800, FX 4800, FX 3800, FX 1800, FX 580, FX 380 and NVS 295.
“Our mission with Quadro is to help customers solve the world鈥檚 most challenging visual computing problems,” stated Dan Vivoli, executive vice president of marketing at Nvidia. “We learn every day from them and are humbled by their brilliance. The new lineup, with the flagship Quadro FX 5800, sets the stage for the next ten years of innovation.”
Introduced back in November, the Quadro FX 5800 features 4GB of and a 240 Processing Core-boasting 55nm GT200b GPU, while the December-debuting FX 4800 comes with 192 PCs and 1.5GB of VRAM. The single-slot cooler-equipped FX 3800 has 192 PCs and 1GB of GDDR3 memory, the FX 1800 has 64 PCs and 768MB, the FX 580 32 PCs and 512MB, and the FX 380 just 16 PCs and 256MB of memory. Last and definitely least, the passively cooled Quadro NVS 295 has 8 Processing Cores, 256MB GDDR3 memory and a 64bit memory interface.
