AMD 790GX to launch at Computex
Weve seen that AMD plans to launch the RS780, its higher clocked IGP core, and the launch will be followed with many motherboards is scheduled for first days of June.
The new chipset will also support Sideport graphics memory that speeds up the IGP and more importantly, the SB750 Southbridge, which finally brings RAID 5 support to AMDs chipset.
The AMD 790GX promises much higher performance compared to the already successful 780G chipset, and it also promises better overclocking.
The 790GX also brings Crossfire support to a mainstream IGP motherboard while the chipset itself has two independent display controllers that can support DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA out. Beware that Crossfire works in 2x 8x PCIe 2.0 mode.
It is set to launch on June 3rd.
